Chief Afolabi Ayinde Idowu Esuleke is the Baale Esu of Osogboland, a title passed down from his late father, Chief Kayode Idowu Esuleke, the former Baale Esu and Gbojeniyi (Egungun Chief) of Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. He is also the grandson of the late Chief Oladepo Ayinde Idowu Elesu, who served as both Baale Esu (Head of all Esu priests) and Jagun-Ode (Head of Hunters).
Born into the Isese tradition, Chief Afolabi was initiated at an early age and has dedicated his life to the practice and preservation of Yoruba spirituality. He is a Babalawo (Ifa priest) and a Babalorisa of Esu, guiding individuals on their spiritual journeys.
In addition to his priestly duties, Chief Afolabi is a master carver, renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship. His art gallery in Osogbo, Osun State, showcases his intricate woodwork and the rich artistic heritage of Yoruba culture. Known as “the carver with the magical hands,” he travels globally to exhibit his work and share the cultural legacy of his ancestors.
As the leader of Ase Elegbara Temple, Chief Afolabi plays a vital role in helping individuals in the United States and beyond learn, worship, and undergo initiations into Ifa and Orisa traditions. Residing in Atlanta, GA, he continues to travel the world, offering divination, initiations, festivals, art exhibitions, and spiritual guidance.
